Data Service Policies Metadata Tab

The creation and configuration of the MetadataExtensions.cfg text file is necessary to view the Metadata tab in Phoenix VCM applications where the application reads the file (such as in Data Service Policies), and for optional extended metadata searches in applications such as Search and Retrieve and the Video Content Manager. The Metadata tab only displays if it has been configured. The configuration process is intended for advanced users.

Metadata extensions for Phoenix VCM search applications are all covered in MetadataExtensions.cfg.

The Metadata tab appears in Target and Process, Target and Process Policies, Video Content Manager, and Search and Retrieve only if these applications find a MetadataExtensions.cfg file in <install-dir>\Config.

When you create, configure, and implement a MetadataExtensions.cfg, the Metadata tab appears in Data Service Policies; they contain the Query blocks listed in the DataServicesExtMd block.
