After you have searched for and selected the assets to export from the Digital Evidence Manager Search tab, and the assets are in the Export Queue, use the Digital Evidence Manager Export tab to export the assets in different ways.
Access the Export window panes by clicking the Export tab at the top of the main Digital Evidence Manager application window.
Depending on your system, the following options may or may not be available for you to select from. The contents in the Export Job Configuration pane are dynamic depending on the Export Destination chosen. Work your way through the Export Job Configuration pane parameters.
The Export Destination of local file system is the default setting for this pane. Populate the options when Local File System is selected.
Populate the options when Rimage is selected.
Export to Rimage only works if your Rimage system and Phoenix DEM export are configured properly.
When exporting to the Rimage, do not stop Phoenix DEM until all jobs have finished. If you do, temporary files are not removed and those files will have to be removed manually. To manually remove temporary files, go to the Rimage Export Folder, and remove <user name>_<uuid>.
For more information see Rimage Configuration Window.
Populate the options when FTP Site is selected.
You can customize export options for Export Job Configuration. Custom options listed below Export logging data are only example fields and were set up using an ExportExtensions.cfg file. Custom options are available only when an ExportExtensions.cfg file is in place.
Available options are customizable via ExportExtensions.cfg at <install-dir>\Program Files\Phoenix\Config.
For more information see ExportExtensions.cfg.
The following table only lists the default export options. More options can be added to this list in the .cfg file.
After setting the parameters, click Start Export to export assets. A job status box appears in the Job Status pane during the job, and the Stop button is active.
If you click Stop while it is exporting files, not all of the files in the Export Queue are exported. Any files that have completed export remain on the target computer. Click Dismiss to close the job status box.
Click View to open a log file for job details or to diagnose export issues.
Problems with exporting assets?
Existing files on networked computers are not overwritten, by default. If an export job is unsuccessful, there may already be a copy of the files on the target computer. Avoid errors by setting additional export parameters. For example, to overwrite files on a networked computer, from the When to overwrite existing files field, select Always or Only if newer.
|•||Ensure that the files to overwrite are not write protected by the operating system on the targeted computer.|
|•||From the When to overwrite existing files field in the Export Job Configuration pane, select Always.|
|•||Click Start Export to retry exporting assets.|
