The Camera tab displays camera information, access permissions, and the activity status of the camera.

BW Camera Tab Elements

Element

Description

Serial Number

The serial number of the Body Worn camera.

To change the serial number, click the edit camera button to the right. For more information see Add Body Worn Camera.

Model

A user defined value. This is the camera's model number.

To change the model, click the edit camera button to the right. For more information see Add Body Worn Camera.

Notes

A user defined value used in the menus and configuration file. This is a description of the camera.

Active

Check the check box to make the camera Active. This activates the camera.

When the check box is left unchecked, a caution symbol will be displayed over the camera icon that sits next to the camera name signaling the camera is not active.

Custom ID

Type a Custom ID to help identify the camera.

Password

Type a Password if the camera requires a password to be accessed.

Sync

Click this button to save the settings and apply them to the camera.

Video Resolution

Select a resolution at which video will be recorded on the body worn camera. The higher the resolution, the larger the file will be.

Video Quality

Select a quality at which video will be recorded. The higher the quality, the larger the file will be.

Picture Resolution

Select a resolution at which pictures will be captured on the body worn camera. The higher the resolution, the larger the file will be.

Burst Mode

Select how many pictures are captured with one press of the Picture button on the camera. Off signifies only one picture will be taken.

Self-Timer Shooting

Select the length of time between pressing the Picture button on the camera and actual capture of a picture. Off signifies no extra time between pressing the Picture button and the actual capture of the picture.

Delay Record

Select the length of the time to record after the Record button on the camera is pressed to end a video capture. Off signifies no extra recording time.

Continuous Shooting

Select the length of time between picture capture. Once the Picture button on the camera is pressed, pictures will be captured at this interval until the Picture button is pressed again.

Slide Show

Specify if a slide show of all video, pictures, and audio tracks will be available.

Video Length

Select the length of time that each video clip will be when continuously recording.

Auto Power

Select the length of time for automatic power off of the camera after button inactivity.

Screen Brightness

Select the brightness of the screen on the camera.

Key Tones

Specify if the camera buttons will have a tone when pressed.

LED Indicators

Specify if the camera will have LED indicators.

GPS

Specify if the video will have embedded GPS information.

Record Warning

Specify if there will be an audible voice that announces video has begun recording.

Infrared

Specify if the camera will have automatic control of infrared illumination in dark areas.

Screen Timeout

Select the length of time the camera screen will remain active without pressing any key.

Volume

Select the volume level for alerts, video and audio playback.

Classification

Specify the type of classification the video clip will be given when the Star button is pressed.

Pre-Record

Specify if the 45 seconds of video preceding the press of the Record button will be recorded in the video clip.

Email Notification

Check the box of the desired notification options. Type an email address and mail server address for the recipient of the notifications. Click the Send Test Email to test the email recipient and mail server address is correct.

Access Permissions

Ability to add, change, or delete rights for a camera. Access permissions determine who has access to cameras and the access level. The default permissions include "everyone" and "Recorded and Live Video and Control".

Double-click an existing security entry to change an entry, click the Add button to insert a new entry, click the Delete button to remove an entry, or click the Up or Down arrow buttons to change the order the entries are listed in the Access Permissions group box. See the Add New Security  Entry section below.

Manage Security Entries

Add New Security Entry

Click the Add New Security Entry (green plus sign) button under the Access Permissions group box. Use this window to insert a new access permissions entry. These permissions determine who has access to cameras and the access level. The table below outlines the fields in the window.

Element

Description

Name type

Determine who the new security setting for a camera is applied to, or the type of rights; select between User, Group, Domain, and Everyone.

Entry Name

Type a name to appear under the Access Permissions group box.

Rights

Select the rights granted for the new user, group, domain, or everyone. The rights are as follows:

Recorded and Live Video and Control - Can view recorded and live video from selected camera and have control
Live Video and Control - Can view live video and have  control
Live Video - Can view live video
Recorded and Live Video - Can view recorded and live video from selected camera
Recorded Video - Only view recorded video from the selected camera
None - No access to the camera

If "recorded" is not included in user rights, you can still record video, but you will not be able to search for recorded video when using the Digital Evidence Manager.

Delete Security Entry

Click on a security entry, and then slick on the Delete selected security entry (red x) button.

Move a Security Entry

Change the order of the securities entries in the list by selecting an entry, and then clicking on either the blue up or down arrows.
